DrHair Finasteride Minoxidil Formula should be applied twice daily for optimum results. For example, one application in the morning and one in the evening.

How should I apply DrHair Minoxidil 5% Formula?

It is important to use the spray regularly and as directed to ensure optimal results.

Step 1: Wash your hands before and after applying the solution.

Step 2: Part the hair to allow delivery onto the scalp zones most impacted with baldness. Spray the solution twice on the desired areas. Please apply to the scalp rather than the hair for optimal results.

Can DrHair Minoxidil 5% Formula cause a skin rash?

Yes, there’s a chance that the formula may cause a rash on your scalp. If this occurs, stop using the product. Due to low systemic absorption, your side effects should disappear once you discontinue use. Please contact a medical professional or DrHair if you have any queries.

What does DrHair Minoxidil 5% Formula contain?

Minoxidil 5%, azelaic acid 2%, purified water, propylene glycol and ethanol.

How long does DrHair Minoxidil 5% Formula take to work?

You’ll generally see results within 3 months, but peak results can take up to 9 months of consistent use. Apply the formula twice a day, every day, to see results as soon as possible

Does minoxidil lower blood pressure?

Oral minoxidil tablets are licensed in the UK to reduce blood pressure. When minoxidil is applied topically to the scalp, it is absorbed differently, with an absorption rate of only 1-2%. When taken orally, the absorption rate is higher.

Is minoxidil the same as finasteride?

No, they work differently. Minoxidil solution increases blood flow to your scalp, providing more oxygen and nutrients, which helps hair follicles transition from a dormant to an active growth phase.

On the other hand, oral finasteride stops the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT can shrink hair follicles and shorten the hair growth cycle, leading to hair loss. By reducing DHT levels, finasteride promotes hair growth and increases hair thickness.

Does DrHair Minoxidil 5% Formula have any side effects?

You may experience mild itching on the scalp for a short while after starting treatment. But any side effects are usually temporary with continued treatment, and will disappear when treatment is stopped.

When used topically, systemic effects are unlikely, as just 1-2% of the active ingredient is absorbed. Greater absorption occurs on inflamed or broken skin, so we advise against using the formula in these cases.

Does topical minoxidil affect pregnancy?

The main concern with minoxidil use in pregnancy is its systemic absorption, which could potentially affect the developing foetus. Whilst the formula is topically applied and systemic absorption is low, it would be advised not to use the formula during this period.

Can I use topical minoxidil and breastfeed?

Due to the lack of evidence it is not recommended to breastfeed whilst using the formula.
