Finasteride (1mg)

Stop taking finasteride and talk to your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms: swelling of your lips, face tongue and throat; difficulty swallowing; lumps under your skin and breathing difficulties.

Patients should be advised to promptly report to their doctor any changes in their breast tissue such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge as this could be potentially a serious condition, such as breast cancer

You must stop finasteride three months prior to trying to conceive/start a family. if your sexual partner is or may potentially be pregnant, you should avoid exposing her to your semen which could contain a tiny amount of the drug and may affect the normal development of the baby’s sex organs.

Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any adverse events and report them on a Yellowcard.

Some men have reported episodes of depressive illness, and in some cases suicidal thoughts with the use of finasteride. If this occurs you must seek a medical appointment/consultation and stop taking finasteride.

If you have a large amount of residual urine and/or severely reduced urinary flow, you should be closely monitored for narrowing of the urinary tract and consult a doctor.

If you have impaired liver function you should take finasteride. Consult a medical professional beforehand.
