What happens if I miss a dose?
Finasteride 1mg tablets are recommended to be taken once per day, if a tablet is missed on one day, do not take double the amount on the next dose continue with one tablet per day. Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels will be significantly reduced on taking oral Finasteride 1mg tablets but need to be maintained by continuous daily dosage.
Possible side effects
Like all medicines, Finasteride can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Side effects may disappear after a while if you continue taking Finasteride. If not, they usually resolve after stopping Finasteride.

Cautions and advice
Stop taking finasteride and talk to your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms: swelling of your lips, face tongue and throat; difficulty swallowing; lumps under your skin and breathing difficulties.
Patients should be advised to promptly report to their doctor any changes in their breast tissue such as lumps, pain, or nipple discharge as this could be potentially a serious condition, such as breast cancer.
You must stop Finasteride three months prior to trying to conceive/start a family. if your sexual partner is or may potentially be pregnant, you should avoid exposing her to your semen which could contain a tiny amount of the drug and may affect the normal development of the baby’s sex organs.
Seek immediate medical attention if I experience any adverse events and report them on a Yellowcard.
Some men have reported episodes of depressive illness, and in some cases suicidal thoughts with the use of Finasteride if this occurs you must seek a medical appointment/consultation and stop taking Finasteride.
If you have a large amount of residual urine and/or severely reduced urinary flow. If this is the case, you should be closely monitored for narrowing of the urinary tract and consult a Doctor.
If you have impaired liver function you should not be taking Finasteride and consult a Medical professional beforehand.
Can I get Finasteride 1mg tablets from my GP (General Practitioner) on NHS?
Finasteride 1mg tablets used to treat male pattern baldness and is classed as cosmetic treatment which is not usually funded by the NHS.
Will a higher dose of finasteride improve results?
